Business Analyst (Shipping)

Our client is a dynamic and rapidly expanding container liner business with a strong presence globally. We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst (Shipping) to join our client's team in Singapore.

As a Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing market trends, financial data, and operational metrics to provide strategic insights and recommendations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for the business.
• Conduct periodic data quality assessments to ensure the accuracy, completeness and reliability of Operational Cost and Revenue reported.
• Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and reports to support decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements, understand business objectives, initiate corrective measures on the deviations identified and define project scopes.
• Perform market research and competitive analysis to benchmark performance and identify industry best practices.
• Prepare presentations and reports for senior management, summarizing findings, insights, and recommendations.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to track business performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Support the implementation of new initiatives and business strategies through data-driven insights and recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Maritime, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role within the logistics, shipping, or maritime industry.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and database management.
• Knowledge of maritime logistics and shipping operations.
