Business Development Director

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Director to lead our business growth initiatives in the interior design industry. This role is ideal for a strategic professional with an extensive network, strong commercial acumen, and a proven track record of winning and managing high-value interior design projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish a network and connection with overseas suppliers in China, particularly within the renovation, interior fit-out, furniture, and building materials industries, with experience importing products into Singapore.
• Manage the entire procurement process, acting as the primary liaison between clients, contractors, and both local and international suppliers to ensure timely delivery of the products.
• To source directly from manufacturers and suppliers in China and negotiate competitive pricing and optimize shipping costs to achieve cost-effective procurement.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities across corporate, commercial, hospitality, retail, and residential sector.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, developers, architects, consultants, and key industry stakeholders.
• Lead the preparation of proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate closely with the design and project teams to deliver client-focused solutions.
• Conduct regular updates to the stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline from a recognized school or university.
• 10+ years of business development or sales leadership experience within the interior design, architecture, fit-out, construction industry, and big MNC companies.
• Strong expertise in supplier management, including proactive follow-up on production schedules, shipping arrangements, and logistics to ensure timely project delivery.
• Hands-on experience in international trade, including export and import procedures, customs documentation, freight forwarding, and shipping
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
• Able to travel on short notice outside Singapore.
• Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate is expected to provide a high level of availability and responsiveness, including outside standard working hours, weekends, and public holidays when business needs or urgent project requirements arise.

Skill

• Excellent command of both English and Mandarin (spoken and written) to communicate effectively with international suppliers and clients from China. Proficiency in Vietnamese is an added advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in 3ds Max and V-Ray for producing high-quality 3D visualizations and renderings.
• Solid knowledge of Addition & Alteration (A&A) works, construction methods, and interior fit-out processes.
