Business Operations Manager (Marine Chemicals)

Role Overview

We are seeking a commercially driven and hands-on Sales & Operations Manager to lead both business development and operational activities within the marine chemicals sector.

This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing customer relationships, overseeing daily operations, and leading internal teams to ensure efficient service delivery across the maritime industry.

The ideal candidate will have prior leadership experience in sales, operations, or general management, preferably within marine, shipping, chemicals, lubricants, offshore, or technical services industries.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

• Drive sales growth and expand the company’s customer base within the marine and shipping industry.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, ship managers, operators, offshore companies, and other maritime stakeholders.
• Identify new business opportunities, market segments, and strategic partnerships.
• Prepare commercial proposals, negotiate contracts, and support pricing strategies.
• Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activities to support business planning.

Operations Management

• Oversee day-to-day operational activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products and services.
• Coordinate closely with logistics, procurement, warehouse, technical, and customer service teams.
• Monitor inventory movement, delivery schedules, operational costs, and overall service quality.
• Resolve customer concerns, operational issues, and service escalations promptly and professionally.

Team Leadership

• Lead, manage, and motivate the sales and operations team to achieve business objectives.
• Set clear KPIs and monitor team performance.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and support to team members.
• Foster a collaborative and performance-driven working environment.

Reporting & Compliance

• Support senior management in implementing business strategies and process improvements.
• Prepare sales forecasts, operational reports, and management updates.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and customer requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Engineering, Supply Chain, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in sales, operations, business development, or general management.
• Prior experience managing teams is required.
• Experience in marine chemicals, marine lubricants, shipping, offshore, technical services, or related industries is advantageous.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to drive business growth.
• Good understanding of operational workflows, logistics, inventory coordination, and customer service delivery.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage both commercial and operational responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on, solutions-oriented, and adaptable across different functions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced in preparing reports and forecasts.
