Buyer (P-4810)

We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented Buyer to join our Singapore Supply Chain team. This hybrid role will be responsible for managing both direct and indirect procurement activities as well as raw material planning. The Buyer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Supply Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to ensure supply continuity, cost efficiency and operational excellence.

What you will be doing:

Direct Procurement & Raw Material Planning

• Review and analyze material planning reports to ensure timely execution of procurement activities.


• Proactively manage supplier delivery schedules to achieve on-time delivery performance.


• Ensure uninterrupted supply during product transfers and new product introductions.


• Execute localization strategies during and after product transfer phases.


• Track and report monthly KPIs to monitor supply chain performance.


• Manage end-of-life (EOL) materials and last-time buys, collaborating with CPD/Engineering on alternatives when required.


• Develop and maintain supplier relationships while monitoring performance against agreed metrics.


• Support Global Procurement with supplier price negotiations.


• Control inventory by aligning forecast data and stock strategies with supply planners.

Indirect Procurement

• Support the Senior Buyer in managing simple RFQs/RFPs for departmental needs.


• Manage the daily purchase order (PO) process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  
  

Other Responsibilities

• Undertake additional tasks or projects as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field; Diploma holders with additional experience will also be considered.


• At least 3 years of experience in direct purchasing and raw material planning.


• Minimum 1 year of experience supporting a manufacturing environment.


• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


• Meticulous with attention to detail, able to work independently and collaboratively.


• Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.


• Creative thinker with the ability to identify and propose process improvements.


• Highly organized, service-oriented, and adaptable to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


• Willingness to travel when required.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the life sciences industry.


• Category knowledge in chemicals and consumables.


• Experience with Oracle ERP systems.
