Job Description - Buyer / Senior Buyer

Barnes Aerospace Singapore, with legal entity name - Windsor Airmotive Asia Pte Ltd in the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), is a leading provider of Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services and spare parts for many of the world's major turbine engine manufacturers, airline operators, and third-party providers. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities to support workshop operations and organizational objectives, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Source, evaluate, negotiate, and procure spare parts, consumables, materials, and services at competitive pricing while maintaining required quality standards.
  • Review and analyze supplier quotations, assess pricing competitiveness, and recommend optimal purchasing decisions.
  • Coordinate closely with suppliers, logistics, and planning teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve supply issues promptly.
  • Maintain and update databases for materials, vendors, pricing, and expenditures to support accurate planning and reporting.
  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives, expand and qualify the vendor base, and mitigate risks associated with single sourcing.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance in areas such as delivery reliability and product quality, implementing improvement actions as needed.
  • Participate actively in material review processes, problem-solving sessions, and continuous improvement programs to enhance procurement and material planning efficiency.
  • Prepare and support management with ad hoc, weekly, and monthly procurement reports and assigned tasks.
  • Uphold company policies, procedures, and safety standards while performing other duties as required.

Skills Required:

  • Strong negotiation skills and effective business communication in English
  • Independent, resourceful, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and resolve issues promptly in fast-moving situations
  • Effective communication skills for both internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through from sourcing to delivery
  • Proactive, results-driven, and self-motivated
  • Strong decision-making skills supported by data and analytical thinking
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experienced with ERP system
