Job Description - Career Coach

To support NTU Education 2025 and beyond, this role is critical as part of the (Career & Attachment Office) CAO’s strategy to develop NTU students into future-ready graduates.  This strategic role of a Career Coach (with a dual role as a Career Business Partner to Schools and Colleges) guides, coaches and empowers NTU undergraduate and postgraduate students in their personal self-discovery, career exploration and professional development, thereby enhancing their employability and employment aligned to their career interests and goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 personalised career coaching and small group coaching.

  • Guide students in exploring their career preferences, strengths, values and interests.

  • Administer self-assessment and career profiling tools, where necessary, to enable students to understand themselves better.

  • Coach students in their early career exploration and planning over the 4 years at NTU.

  • Provide students with information and resources on career-related topics (job search strategies, resume writing, interview skills, industry skills frameworks, career workshops etc).

  • Conduct Mandatory ML0004 Small Group resume critique and mock interview coaching sessions.

  • Coach students in strategies for internship and job search.

  • Engage students, student groups, and faculty members in career awareness and preparation matters.

  • Customize and design school-specific career initiatives and programmes to increase students' employability (e.g., career and industry talks, alumni-sharing sessions, and bespoke workshops).

  • Collaborator and Point of Contact (POC) to respective School’s leadership on career-related matters.

  • Involve in Schools’ outreach programmes (e.g. Career Day).

Job Requirements:

  • A recognised degree with 9 to 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years’ experience in career coaching/counselling/career services/graduate recruitment/human resources/executive search/learning and development.

  • Change agent and constantly initiating new ideas within the College-level team of Career Coaches to increase awareness and CAO’s services to the students.

  • Relevant career coaching certification(s).

  • Possess qualifications/certification in self-assessment and career profiling tools.

  • Experienced coach with excellent coaching skills and ability to engage young adults.

  • Knowledgeable in traditional and technology/AI-enabled career coaching tools.

  • Knowledgeable of industries, workplace and employer expectations.  

  • Strong initiative, self-motivated, and focused on helping students achieve career success.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Competent in conducting/presenting career-related workshops.

  • Active listener with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

  • Meticulous with strong organisation and administration skills.

  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office tools.
