Cargo Officer

Job Scope

Cargo Operations Management: Oversee and manage all aspects of cargo operations, including loading/unloading, ship-to-ship (STS) transfer operations, and bunkering activities.

Reporting & Documentation: Accurately measure, calculate, and report the Remaining On Board (ROB) quantities for all cargo and bunker operations. Maintain precise records and ensure all relevant documentation (e.g., Bills of Lading, cargo manifests, survey reports) are complete and in order.

Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for vessel agents, surveyors, and other third-party contractors. Communicate vessel ETA, operational updates, and any requirements effectively.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure all operations are conducted in full compliance with company safety policies, international regulations (ISM/ISPS), and environmental standards.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with the vessel’s crew, terminal operators, and the operations team to ensure smooth and efficient port calls.

Qualifications & Experience

• Applications are welcome from candidates at all levels. Candidates with relevant maritime industry experience will be preferred.
• Minimum educational requirement: GCE ‘O’ Level / Nitec qualification
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must be physically fit and able to work in a port environment.
• Willingness to work on a rotational shift basis, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
