Job Summary

We are hiring an experienced Chartering Manager to lead vessel sourcing, freight negotiation, and chartering execution for bulk commodity shipments. You will convert market intelligence into profitable fixtures while ensuring reliable execution and strong stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, negotiate, and finalize voyage and time charter fixtures with shipowners, brokers, and counterparties to secure profitable freight agreements
• Review and analyze charter party terms, rider clauses, laycan, freight structure, bunker exposure, port costs, and voyage economics to ensure optimal fixture conditions
• Manage post-fixture execution by monitoring laytime, demurrage/despatch, voyage claims, and coordinating with operations teams for smooth shipment delivery
• Track and analyze freight market movements, vessel positioning, cargo opportunities, and trade lane trends to inform commercial decisions and optimize chartering strategies
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with shipowners, brokers, charterers, and internal stakeholders to support ongoing business growth
• Support voyage profitability analysis and deliver market updates, fixture reports, and performance insights to management for informed decision-making

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree or diploma in shipping, maritime studies, logistics, business, or related field
• 5 to 8 years of chartering or shipbroking experience for Manager level; 8+ years for senior desk-owning roles
• Strong knowledge of dry bulk freight markets, charter party terms, laytime, and demurrage calculation
• Proven ability to negotiate commercially sound fixtures and manage multiple shipments effectively under pressure

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Established network within the dry bulk or commodity shipping market
