Spearhead proprietary trading for liquid products (e.g., LPG, olefins, polypropylene, chemicals, and downstream derivatives). Develop and execute independent strategies using physical and financial instruments, bearing full P&L responsibility for the trading book.
Leverage personal industry network to originate, source, and market physical cargoes, executing both term and spot trades to expand trading volume and market presence.
Monitor global market fundamentals,price trends, geopolitical developments, and supply-demand dynamics to support timely and well-informed trading decisions.
Manage trading positions, market exposure, and risks in strict compliance with the company’s risk management policies and governance framework.
Design and execute hedging and arbitrage strategies using futures, swaps, options, and other derivative instruments to manage portfolio risk and enhance returns.
Work closely with internal stakeholders including operations, shipping, finance, and risk management teams to ensure efficient trade execution, logistics coordination, and settlement.
Identify new product opportunities along the chemical value chain and establish long-term partnerships with customers, suppliers, and brokers to drive business growth.
Prepare and present regular trading performance reports and market analysis to support management’s strategic and operational decision-making.
Perform any other duties or projects assigned by Management.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemistry, Business, Trading, Finance, or a related field.
Min. 5 years of experience in proprietary or physical trading of chemicals, energy, or related commodities.
Well-established industry network with proven ability to independently originate, develop, and scale trading business.
Strong understanding of chemical market fundamentals, physical supply chains, pricing mechanisms (including derivative pricing models), and risk management practices.
Strong analytical, quantitative and risk management skills, with the ability to evaluate market fundamentals, volatility, pricing structures and trading risks.
High integrity, professional ethics and sense of responsibility, with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Excellent command of English and Chinese, both written and spoken, as this role requires regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, as well as the preparation and review of bilingual business documents, reports and presentations.
