Childcare Assistant (PG / JW)

The Childcare Assistant supports teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, and conducive environment for children and assists with the daily operations of the classroom.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in supervising and caring for children during daily routines and activities under the guidance and supervision of qualified educators.

• Assist with children's personal care needs, including helping them change clothes, maintain personal hygiene, and prepare for rest or nap times.

• Supervise and assist children during meal and snack times.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning environment.

• Attend to children's needs and provide comfort, guidance, and reassurance when required.

• Support the implementation of classroom routines and centre procedures under the guidance of teachers.

• Help prepare teaching materials, classroom setups, and activity resources as directed by the teachers and principal.

• Assist with general housekeeping duties related to classroom and children's areas.

• Perform other duties reasonably assigned to support the smooth operation of the centre.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Minimum Secondary School education.

• Relevant experience working with children or in a preschool environment will be an advantage.

• Passionate about working with young children.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• No prior early childhood certification is required.
