Civil Technician

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Civil Material Technician for testing, sample preparation and delivery/collection of samples and preparation of test reports. Candidates should ideally have gained considerable experience in construction material testing either with a commercial test house or contractor.

Responsibilities

• Perform varies of construction testing onsite such as concrete, soil, structural fixings and etc.
  
• Perform test as directed by customer specification / Engineers instruction
  
• Operate testing independently and /or under supervision of senior test technician
  
• Gather and record test data and able to communicates properly with client onsite.
  
• Prepare and compile reports/worksheets as per supervisors instruction.
  

Skills / Qualifications

• Working knowledge of laboratory safety & site safety.
  
• Diploma in Civils or Material Science certificate preferred.
  
• College or vocational school coursework welcomed
  
• 0-2 years experience in a testing related field
  
• Basic understanding of testing concepts
  
• Possess computer skills.
  
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus
  

Physical Demands:

• Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate).
  
• Lifting requirements: lifting 50 lbs. often and 50 lbs. on occasion
  
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
  
• Ability to lift 50+lbs periodically
