Claims Manager - Marine Insurance

We are seeking an experienced Marine ClaimsManager. This role offers broad exposure across casualty management, fleet insurance programmes, risk mitigation initiatives, and stakeholder engagement within a dynamic maritime environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Handle complex marine claims and other insurance classes, acting as a trusted advisor to internal teams, clients, insurers, and service providers throughout the claim’s lifecycle.
• Take ownership of insurance incidents and recovery matters arising across the fleet, ensuring cases are progressed efficiently from notification through resolution.
• Coordinate with external insurance partners, including clubs, insurers, surveyors, legal advisors, and loss adjusters on ongoing matters.
• Maintain oversight of insurance arrangementsfor assigned vessels, ensuring policies, certificates, and related records remain accurate and up to date.
• Produce management information on loss trends, reserve movements, recoveries, and key performance indicators for senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to annual placement exercises by providing claims insights, portfolio analysis, and supporting information to the insurance market.
• Assess contractual obligations and identify areas of insurance exposure or risk transfer considerations.
• Act as a key point of contact for insurance enquiries across the organisation and support wider risk management initiatives.

About You:

• Hands on technical experience handling marine claims products: H&M, Cargo, P&I, etc.
• Previous experience supporting tanker fleets,including Product, Chemical, Crude Oil, LNG, or LPG vessels.
• Strong understanding of marine liabilities, casualty response, pollution risks, cargo-related exposures, and insurance recovery processes.
• Demonstrated experience handling complex marine claims and stakeholder engagement across shipowners, brokers, insurers, or P&I Clubs.
• Knowledge of vessel operations and commercial shipping practices within the tanker sector.
• Effective communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Maritime, legal, insurance, or risk management qualifications will be advantageous.
