Job Description - CLERK OF WORKS

Job Description

  • Monitor daily construction activities and ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
  • Inspect workmanship, materials and completed works at the project site.
  • Identify defects, non-compliance and safety concerns, and report them to the Project Manager or Consultant.
  • Maintain daily site records, inspection reports, progress photographs and defect lists.
  • Coordinate inspections with contractors, subcontractors, consultants and relevant authorities.
  • Verify that corrective works are properly completed.
  • Monitor construction progress and highlight delays or site issues.
  • Attend site meetings and provide updates on workmanship, quality and progress.
  • Ensure contractors follow approved method statements and project requirements.
  • Assist with testing, commissioning and handover inspections.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in building or construction site supervision.
  • Able to read construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Good knowledge of construction methods, materials and quality-control procedures.
  • Strong observation, reporting and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and coordinate with different project parties.
  • Familiarity with Singapore construction practices and safety requirements is preferred.
