We are seeking an experienced individual who is familiar with Asset Management and SCCM Operating System Deploymentto lead our IT asset lifecycle management and specialise in operating system deployment using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM). This role combines strategic asset management expertise with fundamental technical knowledge of OS deployment, imaging, and automation.
Responsibilities:
Asset Management
Lead the end-to-end IT asset lifecycle management process, from procurement through disposal, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements
Maintain comprehensive asset inventory databases and ensure accuracy of hardware and software asset records
Develop and implement asset management strategies, policies, and procedures to optimise asset utilisation and reduce costs
Conduct regular asset audits and reconciliation activities to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity
Prepare detailed reports and analytics on asset utilisation, costs, and compliance for senior management
Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts
Coordinate with deployment teams to ensure accurate asset tracking during device provisioning and refresh cycles
SCCM Operating System Deployment (OSD) - Operator Level
Execute and manage SCCM task sequences for Windows operating system deployment for all new devices
Perform device imaging, OS installations, and refresh operations using established SCCM deployment methods
Monitor OSD deployments, track success rates, and generate deployment status reports
Troubleshoot common OSD issues using standard procedures and escalate complex problems appropriately
Coordinate deployment schedules with project management team and ensure timely completion of deployment activities
Verify device readiness and perform pre-deployment checks including hardware compatibility and network connectivity
Perform quality assurance checks on deployed devices to ensure they meet organisational standards
Technical Leadership and Optimisation
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members on OSD best practices
Continuously evaluate and improve OSD processes to reduce deployment time and increase success rates
Collaborate with security teams to ensure deployed images meet security baselines and compliance requirements
Stay current with Microsoft technologies, Windows releases, and industry best practices
Participate in project planning for large-scale device refresh initiatives and Windows migration projects
Serve as subject matter expert and escalation point for complex OSD and asset management issues
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for OSD processes, task sequences, and troubleshooting procedures
Education and Experience
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in IT asset management and SCCM administration
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience with SCCM OSD in enterprise environments
Proven track record of managing large-scale OS deployment projects (1,000+ devices) or equivalent
Professional Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
Project management capabilities and experience leading technical initiatives
Strong documentation skills and commitment to maintaining accurate records
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft certifications (Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Endpoint Manager, or equivalent)
ITIL Foundation certification or higher
Knowledge of software asset management (SAM) frameworks and ISO 19770 standards
