Job Responsibilities
1. Colour Scheme Development
Develop professional colour scheme proposals for buildings, landed properties, condominiums, HDB / residential blocks, commercial properties, schools, institutions, and other project developments.
Propose colour combinations that are visually balanced, modern, practical, and aligned with the building’s architectural style.
Prepare multiple colour options where required, including safe, contemporary, premium, or thematic alternatives.
Consider façade structure, building height, lighting conditions, surrounding environment, material finishes, and customer preferences when creating colour schemes.
Ensure all colour recommendations are suitable for actual paint application and aligned with the company’s available colour range and product systems.
2. Architectural and Project Colour Support
Support the Sales and Specification teams with colour proposals for tender submissions, repainting projects, mock-ups, client presentations, and project discussions.
Translate brief requirements from developers, architects, managing agents, contractors, and internal teams into clear colour design proposals.
Provide colour recommendations that enhance building identity, improve visual appeal, and support the positioning of the project.
Assist in refining colour proposals based on feedback from clients, consultants, architects, or internal stakeholders.
Maintain consistency between proposed colour schemes, physical colour chips, product availability, and final project recommendations.
3. Colour Visualisation and Proposal Preparation
Prepare colour scheme visuals using relevant design software, rendering tools, or image-editing platforms.
Apply proposed colours accurately onto building elevations, photographs, architectural drawings, or façade visuals.
Create clear and professional presentation layouts, including colour palettes, colour codes, product references, and supporting design rationale.
Ensure all proposal materials are neat, accurate, easy to understand, and suitable for client-facing presentation.
Support the continuous improvement of colour scheme proposal templates, visual standards, and presentation formats.
4. Colour Consultation and Design Rationale
Provide basic colour consultation support to internal teams and external stakeholders when required.
Explain the design logic behind colour recommendations, including colour harmony, contrast, visual hierarchy, accent placement, and environmental suitability.
Recommend suitable feature colours, accent areas, neutral tones, and supporting shades based on the project objective.
Balance aesthetic direction with practical considerations such as maintenance, dirt visibility, weathering, building scale, and market acceptance.
Help stakeholders understand how colour can improve the overall appearance and value perception of a property.
5. Product and Technical Coordination
Work closely with Technical and Product teams to ensure proposed colours are suitable for the relevant substrate, product system, and application method.
Check colour feasibility, especially for exterior coatings, textured finishes, special-effect coatings, waterproofing systems, and other technical product ranges.
Avoid proposing colours or finishes that may create application, durability, availability, or maintenance issues.
Ensure that selected colours are aligned with approved colour cards, fan decks, project colour libraries, and company colour standards.
Support the preparation of mock-up colour references when required.
6. Workflow, Documentation and Project Tracking
Manage assigned colour scheme requests based on agreed timelines and priority levels.
Maintain proper records of colour schemes, project references, client feedback, revisions, and final approved proposals.
Update colour scheme request trackers, job status records, and internal databases accurately.
Ensure all completed colour schemes are properly archived for future reference, case studies, and internal learning.
Support the development of a structured colour scheme library, including past project references, colour combinations, and approved palettes.
7. Trend, Market and Competitor Awareness
Keep updated on architectural colour trends, façade design trends, interior colour directions, and competitor colour offerings.
Support the development of new colour stories, curated palettes, professional colour guides, and market-relevant colour collections.
Provide input on colour trends that may be useful for marketing campaigns, product launches, project presentations, and customer engagement.
Help strengthen the company’s position as a colour leader in the project and professional market.
8. Internal Collaboration and Support
Collaborate closely with Sales, Specification, Marketing, Technical, Customer Service, and external vendors where required.
Support urgent project requirements while maintaining design quality and accuracy.
Participate in internal reviews, colour discussions, project meetings, and training sessions.
Provide design support for marketing materials, colour cards, showroom visuals
Requirements
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D rendering software, or other visualisation tools will be an advantage.
