Job Function Summary

The Commodities Execution Trader will have primary trading responsibility for multiple portfolio managers (“PMs”) covering commodities products across the spectrum. The trader will need to interact with the sell side across agency and principal desks to achieve best execution. The successful candidate will create strong internal and external relationships, provide coverage for discretionary and systematic strategies, and offer market news and color to the PMs contributing to the overall revenue generation.

Principal Responsibilities

• Provide trading expertise primarily in commodities across Energy, Metals, Agriculture, Power etc
• Execute trades as directed by PMs while maintaining best practice execution
• Provide market and trading color to PMs; use market and sector knowledge to assist PMs in an advisory capacity
• Build and maintain strong broker relationships and execution capabilities
• Proactively support Commodities business in Asia, providing management with information on PM trading activity

Qualifications / Skills Required

• Bachelors degree
• 3-7 years of relevant Commodities trading experience in a Commodity Trading Firm, Hedge Fund or Tier 1 sell-side firm (covering hedge funds)
• Cross Commodities Knowledge: Energy, Metals, Agriculture, China Commodities, Power (good to have)
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the commodities market landscape and market microstructure in Asia
• Previous experience with trading applications like ICE and TT
• Entrepreneurial spirit in operational and technology innovations associated with Commodities trading centralization efforts
• Detail oriented; demonstrates thoroughness and strong ownership of work
• Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others
• Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment; good sense of urgency
• Strong communication skills
