Your new role
The role supports the Head of Commodity Operations, Asia in managing the Base Metals & Energy Settlements function, with accountability for effective management oversight and active, hands-on involvement in day-to-day business-as-usual (BAU) processing. The Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, control, and performance of the Base Metals & Energy Settlements team, maintaining strong risk management practices, and ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and key operational controls. Performance:
Execute the strategy for Base Metals & Energy Settlements as defined by the Head of Commodity Operations, Asia.
Engage with internal stakeholders locally and across regions to support issue resolution.
Exercise sound judgement, care, and diligence in all operational activities.
Ensure no internal or external audit findings within the area of responsibility.
Maintain zero operational losses within scope.
Lead and participate in stakeholder meetings and industry forums related to Base Metals, Energy, and Documentary Credit.
Act as escalation point for settlement issues and own resolution end-to-end.
Contribute to new product discussions and implementation initiatives.
Participate in projects impacting Base Metals, Energy, and Documentary Credit operations.
Act as a role model by consistently demonstrating organisational values.
Leadership & People Management:
Lead and manage the Base Metals & Energy Settlements team under the guidance of regional management.
Promote a culture of continuous learning through cross-training and skill development.
Manage, mentor, and motivate team members, supporting career development.
Instil discipline, consistency, and strong controls across processes and procedures.
Coordinate and support cross-regional training initiatives.
Promote staff wellbeing and maintain team engagement.

Process:
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Proactively identify operational risks and implement mitigation measures.
Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) annually.
Drive continuous improvement in workflows for efficiency and scalability.
Design and implement new processes to support new products or structures.
Support alignment of regional and global commodities settlement processes.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree in Banking, Business, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a management or supervisory role within banking operations.
Strong technical expertise in commodities operations.
Proven leadership capability within Operations environments.
Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
