Compliance Manager, APAC

We are looking to hire a Compliance Manager APAC based in Singapore, reporting to the Singapore-based General Counsel, Asia.

This role provides an opportunity to be part of PartnerRe’s team in Asia with exposure to a wide variety of diverse markets, including Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Japan, and India. PartnerRe has reinsurance carrier entities in Singapore, Hong Kong, and India.

Key Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day management of Singapore and Hong Kong Compliance operations, including liaising with regulators and external auditors to address regulatory queries

• Monitor developments in Singapore, Hong Kong and India (& APAC) regulatory landscape and review, analyze and interpret applicable developments in co-ordination with relevant stakeholders

• Lead the design and implementation of processes to address Compliance Function deliverables and regulatory obligations, including quarterly and ad-hoc compliance reports and compliance planning

TechnicalSkills/Competencies:

• Excellent problem solving, project management and research skills with relevant experience

• Commercially astute with a strong understanding of business, regulations and compliance

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as demonstrating your social competence and assertiveness is essential

• Ability to analyze legal and compliance obligations and develop control requirements.

BehaviouralCompetencies:

• Ability to work independently as well as within a team to build strong relationships with colleagues

• Added advantage - proficient in leveraging artificial intelligence and digital tools to enhance compliance workflows (e.g. regulatory monitoring, risk assessments, due diligence, and reporting) with a focus on improving efficiency, consistency, and governance.
• Candidates should be comfortable identifying opportunities to deploy AI responsibly, with appropriate regard to regulatory expectations, data governance, and model risk considerations.

Work Experience:

• 8 - 12 years' experience working in a compliance role in a regulated insurance/reinsurance firm or broker, or alternatively within compliance in a technology firm

Education:

• University degree, professional qualifications are desirable
