Conservator (Artefacts/Paintings)

Job Responsibilities

• Examine and assess the condition of artefacts and paintings.
• Carry out conservation treatments to preserve and repair artefacts.
• Take photographs and prepare conservation reports with treatment details.
• Monitor and record environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and light.
• Prepare artefacts for fumigation or freezing treatments.
• Frame and mount paintings and other artefacts.

Requirements

• Degree inconservation with at least 8 years of work experience in the conservationfield; or
• Conservator without degree in conservation possesses at least 14 years of qualified work experience in conservation.
• Work experience in a museum/institutional environment would be preferred.
