Design Manager

Responsibilities

• Prepare layout test fit to assist in feasibility study of projects.

• Coordinate and liaise with project consultant to ensure layout comply with authorities’ requirements.

• Translate Management’s concept idea into schematic design that is sufficient to project consultant and contractor to further develop into statutory submission drawing and working drawing.

• Provide 2D and 3D renderings or computer graphics to illustrate design intent to various stakeholders.

• Assist the project manager in preparing architectural and ID tender drawing and specification in the event if project consultant is absent.

• Work closely with project manager and consultants (e.g. Architect, C&S, M&E and ID) in reviewing contractor’s proposal and ensure that the proposal complies with contract requirement in terms of design and specification.

• Conduct periodic site inspection with project manager to ensure works executed on site complies with contract requirement.

• Provide input and advice to project manager for design related matters in a project.

• Develop design guideline and lead design standardisation initiative to improve efficiency in project execution in terms of time, budget and quality.

• Undertake ad-hoc duties related to design as assigned.

Requirement

• Minimum Diploma holder in Architectural Studies or Interior Design with at least 5 years of working experience in similar industry in Singapore.

• Candidate with experience working as design personnel in real estate or developer company is an added advantage.

• Basic knowledge in the prevailing statutory codes and regulations.

• Good knowledge of architectural details, working drawings and construction practices.

• Domain knowledge in Structural and M&E work is preferred but not required.

• Well versed in AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Revit and/ or other 3D rendering software.

• Knowledge of BIM is an advantage.

• Motivated with the ability to work independently and as a team.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
