Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated Building Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about design, with a strong eye for detail and a solid grounding in building design across multiple scales and typologies. This role is integral to the development and delivery of design projects from concept through to construction documentation, working collaboratively with our senior designers and project leads to produce high-quality design outcomes.

Job Description – Building Designer

• Develop and produce building design drawings across all stages, from concept and schematic design through to detail design and construction documentation.
• Prepare and coordinate architectural drawing packages, including plans, sections, elevations, details, and schedules.
• Develop design concepts and explore design options under the direction of senior designers and project leads.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure design intent is maintained across all documentation.
• Produce and review drawing packages for internal review, client presentations, and consultant coordination.
• Track and incorporate design revisions and client feedback in a clear and organised manner.
• Proactively identify design issues or documentation gaps and propose solutions in consultation with senior team members.
• Prepare concept sketches, diagrams, and study models to communicate and develop design ideas.
• Support the team in meeting project deadlines, quality standards, and deliverable requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of presentation materials and visualisation content for client and internal reviews.
• Maintain organised and well-documented drawing files, records, and project archives.
• Mentor and assist junior designers and draftspersons as required.
• Contribute positively to team culture and ensure smooth workflow within the design team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture
• 7–10+ years of experience in architecture, design consultancy, or construction project coordination.
• Strong understanding of design stages, drawing packages, and multi-disciplinary coordination.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, project scheduling tools, and familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software is an advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
