Digital Journalist

Lighthouse Independent Media is part of the Forum Media Group. Founded in 2002, Lighthouse has been driving market-leading B2B media brands, MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Human Resources Online, and iTnews Asia.

We are seeking a journalist to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality news content in traditional and new media formats. You will be responsible for driving content and digital growth by producing engaging, factual and timely content news articles, features, and multimedia content via multiple platforms such as websites and social medial channels across Asia. You will also have the opportunity to expand your skills repertoire by using your content knowledge to host physical and virtual events, as well as moderate industry panel discussions. This position has prospects for lateral as well as upward progression within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curate, communicate, edit and disseminate digital content across various digital platforms working alongside the editorial, production and marketing teams.
• Create engaging and persuasive written content alongside editorial team on the daily newsletter
• Communicate progress to targets for audience measurement, product quality and adherence to deadlines to the top management team each month.
• Conduct research to uncover interesting and significant trends and story ideas with accuracy and objectivity;
• Write clear, concise, and engaging news articles that adhere to our editorial standards;
• Pitch and develop story ideas that resonate with our audiences and align with our brand's guidelines;
• Conduct interviews and gather quotes from relevant sources to provide well-rounded perspectives;
• Develop accurate, consistent, and high-quality content across the brand’s channels, including website, podcasts, and video;
• Contribute to the success of the brand’s in-house events through emceeing, social media, live reporting, and other duties;
• Opportunity to travel overseas for events;
• Stay up-to-date with current events, emerging trends, and industry developments;
• Adhere to deadlines and manage time effectively in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Requirements:

• Preferably 1-year of relevant experience, either as a journalist, copywriter, or other content-driven roles.  Entry-level candidates are welcome to apply.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• Strong flair for writing, editing, and proofreading with impeccable grammar and style.
• Familiarity with journalistic ethics and standards.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• A passion for storytelling and a commitment to delivering accurate and compelling news.
• Proficient in digital tools and platforms used in the newsroom.
