Director

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director to lead and oversee our logistics and freight forwarding operations in Singapore. The candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, operational excellence, customer relationship management, and regional coordination with our Headquarters in Japan.

The ideal candidate must be proficient in both Japanese and English to effectively liaise with our Japan HQ, regional stakeholders, customers, and business partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall freight forwarding and logistics operations including Air, Sea, and Land transportation.
• Develop and execute business strategies to drive revenue growth and operational efficiency.
• Maintain strong relationships with key customers, vendors, overseas agents, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate closely with Headquarters in Japan on operational, financial, and strategic matters.
• Oversee compliance with local and international logistics regulations and standards.
• Manage budgeting, cost control, and profitability performance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop department managers and operational teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance service quality standards.
• Support regional business expansion and strategic partnerships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management, or related field.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in logistics and freight forwarding industry, with at least 8 years in senior management position.
• Strong knowledge of freight forwarding operations, supply chain management, and international trade.
• Proven leadership and business development experience.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in both spoken and written Japanese and English is mandatory to liaise with Japan Headquarters and international stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, strategic planning, and decision-making capabilities.
• Familiar with Singapore logistics market and regional trade operations.
• Experience working with Japanese companies or multinational logistics organizations.
• Knowledge of ERP / warehouse management systems/ logistics management systems
• Established industry network and customer portfolio will be advantageous.
