Job Description - Director, Business Development & Operations

Job Summary

Identify and develop new business opportunities in renewable energy, focusing on Solar Power systems. Lead project coordination and stakeholder engagement to ensure timely completion of Solar PV and BESS projects while supporting business growth and operational planning.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in renewable energy by applying Solar Power systems expertise to expand market presence.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and business partners to drive project success and collaboration.
  • Coordinate project discussions, meetings, site surveys, proposals, and follow-ups with stakeholders to align objectives and ensure clarity.
  • Oversee operational coordination of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects to ensure seamless execution and adherence to timelines.
  • Monitor project progress, timelines, and operational activities to achieve timely and successful project completion.
  • Prepare management updates, detailed reports, and business presentations to communicate project status, insights, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and external parties to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve operational issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of business growth strategies and operational planning initiatives to enhance organizational performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of enquiries and projects to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective follow-up.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Experience in renewable energy, Solar PV, or BESS industry.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis is an added advantage.
  • Business development and client management skills.
  • Project coordination expertise.
  • Techno-commercial proposal and tender management experience.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of project financials.
  • Team building capabilities.
