PURPOSE

The role is responsible to lead architecting and realizing digital platforms (cloud infrastructure) for regional markets within FWD.

We are looking for a passionate technical lead with substantial experience in insurance, consumer facing and backend tech stacks, devops to establish and strengthen digital platform engineering standard to build a best-in-class digital platform with great engineering principles that drive efficiency and cost effectiveness.

The role is expected to appreciate digital business strategy, so that to create greater synergy with business stakeholders across region by aligning systems and solutions to business need with good delivery quality in timely manner.

KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIESs

• Lead and responsible for digital platform delivery and day to day production support across region.
• Responsible and plays a leading role in hiring, managing, coaching devops engineers to maintain high availability and resilient digital platforms to support business needs.
• Ensure technical solutions (both application and cloud infrastructure) are designed with cost optimization, scalability, flexibility, reliability, and maintainability in mind.
• Establish continuous improvement of digital platform engineering standard entails CI/CD optimization and automation, active DR capability as well as comply with group cloud infrastructure and application security requirements.
• Enforce and monitor source code promotion processes are followed by application delivery team to safe-guard delivery quality.
• Responsible as subject-matter expert (SME) in architectures and Devops by selecting right tools and technologies.
• Building strong devops team culture to create a great environment for talent retention.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Tertiary qualifications (Diploma/Degree/Master) in Computer Science or relevant qualification
• Broad technical experience and a deep interest in current and new technologies, cloud hosting, code development and delivery practices
• 5-10 years of experienced in managing devops team (minimally 5 and more team members).
• 5-10 years of experienced in managing development team (minimally 3 and more team members).
• Solid software development experience in large scale and mission critical system.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Expertise in building secure, scalable frontend web and backend APIs.
• Experience with agile development methodologies, Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD

KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

• 12 years + of end to end software development and cloud infrastructure hands-on experience.
• Excellent hands-on AWS/Azure cloud infrastructure design, implementation and BAU support with proven track record of Kubernetes management experience.
• Familiar with modern programming languages such as nodeJS, ReactJs, NextJS, VueJS, CSS, Typescripts and GraphQL.
• Interested and continuously embracing new technology stacks.
