Director of Risk Management

My client is a fast‑growing fintech platform headquartered in Singapore, offering innovative solutions in digital lending, payments, and trade finance. With rapid expansion across Asia, the company is seeking a decisive and experienced Director of Risk to lead its enterprise risk management function and ensure resilience, compliance, and sustainable growth.

The Director of Risk will be responsible for developing and overseeing the company’s risk framework, with a primary focus on credit risk . The role requires both quantitative expertise (risk models, stress testing, portfolio analytics) and qualitative governance skills (policies, frameworks, regulatory engagement). The successful candidate will provide proactive risk insights to senior leadership and embed risk awareness across the organization.

1. Lead the design and implementation of enterprise‑wide risk management frameworks.
2. Drive credit risk strategy , including policy development, underwriting standards, scorecards, and portfolio monitoring.
3. Build and validate quantitative risk tools such as stress testing, scenario analysis, and backtesting.
4. Establish and maintain governance structures, including risk appetite statements, escalation procedures, and reporting frameworks.
5. Provide proactive risk insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
6. Oversee regulatory engagement with MAS and other authorities, ensuring compliance with local and cross‑border requirements.
7. Manage and mentor risk and compliance staff, fostering a culture of accountability and risk awareness.
8. Collaborate with product, technology, and operations teams to embed risk controls into business processes.

1. Minimum 10 years of risk management experience, with strong expertise in credit risk within fintech, banking, or trade finance.
2. Proven ability to balance quantitative analysis (models, stress testing, portfolio analytics) with qualitative governance (policies, frameworks, compliance).
3. Track record of making clear, confident decisions under uncertainty.
4. Strong leadership skills, with experience managing small, distributed teams.
5. Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical risk concepts into actionable insights for executives and boards.
6. Familiarity with Singapore and regional regulatory frameworks (MAS, HKMA, etc.).
7. MUST BE FLUENT IN ENGLISH AND MANDARIN
