Role Overview\n\nThe Director, SEA Tax is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all tax matters across Southeast Asia, while aligning with the global tax strategy.\n\nThis role requires a leader who is equally comfortable operating at a strategic level and diving deep into detailed processes, data and technical issues. The successful candidate must be able to understand complex, end\u2011to\u2011end tax workflows, identify risks and inefficiencies, and drive sustainable improvements - while also connecting tax outcomes to business strategy, risk management, and operational efficiency.\n\nA critical component of this role is direct people leadership responsibility. Developing a strong, high\u2011performing team with clear accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement mindset is a core expectation of this role.\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n1\\. Regional Tax Leadership \u0026 Strategy\n\n * Act as the tax leader for SEA, providing oversight across direct tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and cross\u2011border matters.\n * Translate global tax strategy into strong regional execution that supports business growth while managing tax risk.\n * Proactively assess emerging tax risks, regulatory developments, and planning opportunities, and advise stakeholders on potential impacts and actions.\n\n\n\n2\\. Tax Compliance, Reporting \u0026 Governance\n\n * Oversee end\u2011to\u2011end tax compliance across SEA, including CIT, GST/VAT, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and incentive\u2011related reporting.\n * Ensure timely, accurate quarterly and annual tax accounting deliverables, including tax provision, tax packages, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.\n * Own SOX tax controls, including design, execution, documentation, and audit readiness.\n * Maintain strong governance over tax data quality, assumptions, documentation, and controls.\n\n\n\n3\\. Audit, Controversy \u0026 Risk Management\n\n * Lead all tax audits, assessments, rulings, and appeals across SEA in collaboration with external advisors.\n * Develop and execute robust audit defense strategies supported by sound technical analysis and documentation.\n\n\n\n4\\. Transfer Pricing \u0026 Cross\u2011Border Matters\n\n * Partner with the Global Transfer Pricing team on TP policy, intercompany agreements, documentation and audit support.\n * Evaluate tax implications of business model changes, supply\u2011chain restructuring, and new or evolving intercompany arrangements.\n * Advise on permanent establishment risks, cross\u2011border services, and intercompany flows.\n\n\n\n5\\. Incentives Governance \n\n * Oversee tax incentive strategy and governance, including applications, compliance with conditions, and ongoing monitoring.\n\n\n\n6\\. Business Partnering \u0026 Strategic Projects\n\n * Act as a trusted tax advisor to business, finance, legal, and operations leaders.\n * Provide tax input into strategic initiatives, including M\u0026A, reorganizations, cross\u2011border structuring, and system implementations.\n * Ensure tax considerations are embedded early into commercial and operational decision\u2011making.\n\n\n\n7\\. Process Excellence \u0026 Continuous Improvement\n\n * Get into the weeds to understand tax processes, systems, and data flows.\n * Identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and manual workarounds, drive simplification, standardization, and automation where appropriate.\n * Lead improvements relating to ERP systems, tax reporting tools, and data accuracy.\n * Embed a mindset of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the tax function.\n\n\n\n8\\.
