Director Technology Policy

Flint is seeking an experienced Director to help lead and grow our Asia-Pacific technology policy practice, based in Singapore. Working closely with Flint's leadership team, the Director will drive client accounts, deepen the firm's expertise across the region's most pressing technology policy issues, and play an active role in shaping Flint's strategic growth across Asia-Pacific.

All firms face a fast-moving and increasingly complex policy and regulatory environment for technology across Asia-Pacific. Geopolitical tensions, rapid evolutions in technology, and governments' ambitions to increase regulatory control all affect how firms build and operate successful businesses in the region. This role offers the opportunity to help the world's leading firms and organisations navigate cutting-edge policy, regulatory and geopolitical issues, and to engage with governments and regulators at the most senior levels.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking someone with deep expertise in technology policy and/or regulation — spanning issues such as AI adoption and regulation, online safety, data governance, digital infrastructure and cybersecurity — to lead client accounts and contribute to the growth of our Asia-Pacific practice.

You will drive client accounts and profitability, manage high-performing teams, and ensure the delivery of exceptional services that exceed client expectations. You will also play a key role in business development, generating new opportunities and pitching new business, building relationships with government officials, regulators and industry stakeholders across the region, and expanding our technology policy practice. You will play a significant role in developing colleagues across the practice, including line management of one or more direct reports.

While this role will focus on technology policy issues, there may also be an opportunity to work across other policy areas relevant to Flint's Asia-Pacific practice. Candidates should feel free to outline their experience in other policy areas in their application, though this is not a requirement.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Significant experience (10+ years) in technology policy fields such as AI regulation, online safety, data governance, digital infrastructure or cybersecurity, with a demonstrated ability to advise on complex regulatory and policy challenges in these areas.


• A strong professional background in government, a regulator, consultancy, think tank, or industry body in managerial positions. Existing relationships with government officials and/or regulators in the region is desirable.


• A proven track record of managing projects and leading project teams in a fast-paced, delivery-focussed environment with sound judgement and resilience in navigating ambiguity.


• Commercial acumen, with the ability to develop new business opportunities and deliver commercially viable solutions to clients.


• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise advice and messaging to senior stakeholders across diverse markets and cultures, both in written and verbal forms.


• Fluency in English is required. Aptitude in other regional languages is desirable but not required (in particular, Japanese, Korean, Bahasa, or Mandarin).


• A collaborative leadership style, with a passion for mentoring and developing talent within the organisation, and the ability to delegate effectively and empower teams to deliver at pace.
