1. Position Overview

ArchiBiz C. Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented and technically competent Drafter to support the preparation of shop drawings, fabrication drawings, as-built drawings and submission drawings for façade, architectural metalwork, retail fit-out, carpentry and customized construction projects.

The Drafter will work closely with the design, project, fabrication and site teams to translate design intent and site requirements into clear, accurate and practical drawings suitable for client approval, fabrication and installation.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Drawing Preparation

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings and as-built drawings based on architectural, structural and design drawings.
• Produce drawings for façade elements, cladding, glass works, stainless steel works, mild steel supports, aluminium components, doors, screens, canopies, feature structures, carpentry works and related finishes.
• Develop construction details, sections, elevations, fixing details, interfaces and material schedules required for submission, fabrication and site installation.
• Prepare drawing revisions in accordance with consultant, client, project manager and site feedback.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated and suitable for practical construction and fabrication.

B. Design Coordination

• Study tender drawings, contract drawings, design intent, specifications and site conditions before preparing drawings.
• Coordinate drawing details with architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical, façade and interior design requirements where applicable.
• Identify discrepancies, missing information, clashes or impractical details and highlight them to the project team for clarification.
• Assist in resolving site constraints through revised details and coordinated drawings.
• Attend internal drawing coordination discussions and project meetings where required.

C. Fabrication and Installation Support

• Prepare fabrication-ready drawings with clear dimensions, material specifications, profiles, finishes, welding details, fixing methods and component references.
• Work with the fabrication team to ensure drawings can be manufactured efficiently and accurately.
• Coordinate with project and site teams to ensure installation details reflect actual site conditions.
• Carry out site measurements, verification and surveys when required.
• Prepare sketches or revised details to address site variations, installation constraints or rectification works.

D. Submission and Document Control

• Prepare drawings for submission to clients, consultants and relevant project stakeholders.
• Maintain proper drawing numbering, revision records, submission registers and superseded drawing records.
• Ensure only approved and current drawings are issued for fabrication and site installation.
• Incorporate comments from clients, consultants and internal reviewers within the required timeline.
• Assist in compiling drawing packages, material details and supporting documents for project submission.

E. Quality and Compliance

• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, approved material submissions, relevant codes, authority requirements and company standards.
• Check dimensions, levels, interfaces, materials, finishes and fixing details before submission or release for fabrication.
• Support the project team in ensuring works are installed in accordance with approved shop drawings.
• Assist in preparing as-built records upon project completion.

3. Requirements

Education and Qualifications

• Diploma, Nitec or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Design, Interior Architecture, Drafting or a related discipline.
• Candidates with relevant practical drafting experience may also be considered.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD for preparation of technical and construction drawings.
• Familiarity with SketchUp, Revit, SolidWorks, Inventor or other 3D modelling software will be an advantage.
• Able to read and interpret architectural drawings, structural drawings, construction details and specifications.
• Able to prepare detailed drawings for metalwork, façade, glass, carpentry or interior fit-out works.
• Good understanding of dimensions, tolerances, materials, joints, fasteners, brackets, steel members and installation interfaces will be an advantage.

Experience

• Preferably 1 to 3 years of drafting experience in façade, architectural metalwork, interior fit-out, construction, fabrication or related industries.
• Fresh graduates with strong AutoCAD skills and willingness to learn may be considered.
• Experience preparing shop drawings and fabrication drawings for retail, commercial or high-end architectural projects will be an advantage.

6. Key Performance Indicators

Performance will be assessed based on:

• Accuracy and completeness of drawings.
• Timely submission and revision of shop drawings.
• Reduction of drawing-related fabrication or installation errors.
• Ability to identify and resolve drawing coordination issues.
• Proper maintenance of drawing revisions and records.
• Responsiveness to project, site and consultant requirements.
• Quality of fabrication and as-built drawing documentation.
