Dry Bulk Shipbroker

Our client is an established international maritime organisation seeking a commercially driven Dry Bulk Shipbroker to join its Singapore team.

The successful candidate will manage relationships with shipowners, charterers and other market participants while developing and concluding dry bulk business across regional and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, charterers, commodity traders and cargo interests.

• Source cargoes and suitable vessels across the relevant dry bulk segments.

• Negotiate charter-party terms and conclude voyage and time-charter fixtures.

• Monitor freight rates, vessel positions, cargo flows and market developments.

• Provide clients with timely market intelligence and commercially sound recommendations.

• Prepare freight indications, vessel and cargo positions, and market reports.

• Coordinate with operations and post-fixture teams to support the smooth execution of concluded business.

• Identify new accounts and commercial opportunities to expand market coverage.

• Maintain accurate records of negotiations, fixtures and client activity.

• Conduct business in accordance with applicable sanctions, compliance and ethical requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Business, Economics or a related discipline.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in dry bulk shipbroking.

• Sound understanding of dry bulk freight markets and charter-party terms.

• Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships and conclude transactions.

• Strong commercial judgement, negotiation and numerical skills.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-moving and internationally focused environment.

• Established industry relationships in Asia would be advantageous.
