Engineer

Jurong Port’s multipurpose port operating expertise includes efficient handling of general, bulk and containerized cargo, management and operations of the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre, and Lighter Terminals in Penjuru and Marina South. Besides Singapore, Jurong Port is involved in overseas joint ventures in China and Indonesia. In 2016, Jurong Port’s local and overseas terminals handled close to 35 million tons of general and bulk cargo, and 560,000 TEUs of container cargo.

The Responsibilities

• Study existing Port Equipment’s and core sub-systems’ (such as hydraulic, gears, engine, PLC, network control, VSD, SCADA, etc) critical design requirements.

  Assist engineers to develop and plan preventive maintenance work to ensure that all equipment is maintained properly:
  
  
  
  
  
  • Coordinate equipment related improvement works
  
  
  • PM processes improvement
  
  
  • PM compliance and data analysis
  
  
  • 
    
    
    Prepare and compile reports on machinery performance
    
    
    
    
     
    
  
  


• 
  
  
  Assist engineers on project management works such as:
  
  
  
  
  
  • Request for Quotation / Calling of tender
  
  
  • Contractor and inter-deparment coordination
  
  
  • Equipment testing and commissioning
  
  
  • Equipment training coordination
  
  
  • Project documentations
  
  
  • 
    
    
    Manage equipment improvement and upgrading projects, raise purchase request, verify claims, good receives, etc
    
    
    
    
     
    
  
  


• Assist reliability engineers on:
  
  
  
  • Conduct equipment reliability data analysis and propose improvements
  
  
  • Coordinate with JP Academy for in-house training programs and schedule
  
  
  • Coordinate Root Cause Analysis programs
  
  
  • Dvelopment of Risk Assessment,Safe Work Procedures, Standard Operation Procedure, Maintenance Policies, etc
  
  
  • Coordinate equipment design change activities such as review, submission for approval, documentation and technical sharing/briefing
  
  
  • Continuous improvement for 5S, inventory, tools, statutory testing, etc
  
  

The Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering


• Strong interest in equipment


• Willing to work outdoor and in dusty environment


• Good communicator who can handle people from all levels


• Comfortable to conduct presentation


• Good team work


• Possess driving license would be an added advantage
