Estimator/Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities
Mark up the enquiries to be sent out for quotations and ensure this is done quickly
Select suitable subcontractors for the works taking into consideration volume of work and location
Input the Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and set up the job ready to price
Contact the key supply chain contractors to discuss the project and any technical issues
Carry out bulk measure checks and pick up any scope missing from the BoQ and ensure this is incorporated into the price
Visit site and carry out a site report summary of access/egress. Locations for site establishment
and understand logistically how the project will be run.
Work with the assigned Project Manager and to ensure the bid document satisfies the minimum criteria as stated in the RFP.
Review the tender and propose alternatives / value engineering options to be cos
Oversee the Distribution of any addendum information to the relevant sub-contractors
Raise tender queries to the consultants where necessary.
Compile the prelims book with input from the Project Manager on suitable staffing levels
Analyse the quotations and prepare a summary report of all the quotations received
Evaluate the Health, Safety, Quality and Environment (HSQE) obligations and ensure we price the job accordingly
Complete all relevant Estimating forms in line with the Estimating procedure
Produce a list of tender clarifications for submission
Education & Training
Degree in Quantity Surveying/Building or equivalent preferred
Min 5 years in Estimating/ Quantity Surveying
Familiarity with Interior fit-out project or architectural finishes preferred
Good understanding of construction techniques and methodology / sequence of works
Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical & Electrical)
Responsibilities:
Follows up on the pre- and post-contract administration of the project assigned to.
Covers efficient methods for conducting tendering activities, such as risk assessment, the development of a tender file.
Assist to prepare tender and contract documents including bills of quantities.
Administer the tender process, evaluate tenders, and submit tender recommendation reports.
Reviews work specifications, take-off quantity, costing and including liaise with Client, Sub-Contractors and Suppliers.
Possess strong knowledge of Contractual terms and works to ensure that Project Team adheres to Contractural Terms and Conditions.
Assists in resolving contractual and commercial issues with Clients, Contractors and Suppliers.
Co-ordinates the procurement of materials and suppliers for the projects and ensures expenses within budget.
Track of any variations for ongoing projects that may affect costs.
Responsible for the Valuation of progress monthly payments, claims, and final account settlement with Clients, Subcontractors, and Suppliers.
Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
Attends to all contract administration matters and maintains proper documentation of the project.
Attends site and other meetings as required.
Prepare and submit catalogues and sample boards.
Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Diploma/ Degree in Quantity Surveying / Electrical / Mechanical or its equivalent.
Minimum 2-5 years of work experience as M&E Quantity Surveyor.
Relevant Commercial, M&E, Infrastructure Projects QS experience.
Have construction industry in M&E Sector experience.
Able to understand Singapore standards or Code of Practice.
Provides effective support to Project Team and establishes good working relationships with Project Managers, Clients, Contractors and sub-contractors.
