Facilities Manager based in Singapore

Responsible for managing and maintaining, safe, compliant, and efficient facilities at Smith & Nephew Singapore Academy and Singapore, HQ Office and R&D Lab locates at Level 6 & 10 Alice Building, Singapore. This position serves as the responsible owner for all facility assets on the site, including, mechanical and electrical assets, utilities, buildings, and estates. This role manages and implements the maintenance strategy through staff, contractors, and service providers.

The role is also required to manage risk, through assessment tools, manage and report facility spend, keep abreast of energy procurement, spend and compliance and identify, select, and manage, contractors and service providers.

Purchases and approves medium/high value materials and services to maintain facilities and operations. Participates with Procurement in the negotiation of contractor support services for facility and maintenance activity; ensures all facility/maintenance work meets S+N and/or landlord requirements; manage and maintain facility systems such as fire protection, security monitoring, badge access, etc. manage assigned facilities operating expenses, as well as all CAPEX spending, to budget.

What will you be doing?

Prioritizes project meetings, collaborate with the local leaders and stakeholders in all departments to coordinate schedules and resources necessary for the accurate completion of facility related projects.

The Facility Manger works with the real estate team and senior facility leadership on renovation and construction capital projects including but not limited to planning, cost estimates, budget compliance/preparation of the capital requests, and project schedules, and collaborating closely with relevant Landlords and Agents as required.

This position is responsible for developing and publishing of project-related data and review with key facility and operations leadership. Manages maintenance, repair, renovation, expansion and contraction of assigned site/sites including budgets, and designated project management. Manages all soft services and suppliers and other required facility support services engaged at assigned facilities. Support Quality and HSE during site audits and inspections of the facility to ensure site maintains compliance and provide resolution of site- related findings.

Other Duties: Provides Site Leadership Team, HSE and Quality support for the site including but not limited to Townhalls, required inspections, Emergency Response Plans, and support for audits and inspections. Directs energy and waste/recycle efficiency initiatives with monthly program updates, reports and tracking. Works closely with the Global Facilities team on Group facilities projects, changes, and programs.

What will you need to be successful?

Success in the role will require a combination of technical knowledge, soft skills, and a deep understanding of both the business and service-providing sides of an organization. Successful candidates would need the following:

Relevant regional professional qualification (Bachelor’s degree, IWFM, IFMA, CFM, etc)

Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or related discipline preferred.

Professional/recognized HSE Certifications preferred

5 years' experience in Facility/Project/Construction management required, or a combination of related education

7 years’ experience in Facilities/Construction/Project Management.
