Finance / Business Manager (Banking)

We are seeking an experienced Finance / Accounts Manager to oversee the day-to-day finance operations of a banking environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, accounting operations, SAP system management and ensuring compliance with internal financial controls and regulatory requirements

Key responsibilities include:

1. Manage and oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of financial transactions.
2. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, management accounts and financial statements.
3. Handle month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries and variance analysis.
4. Manage financial data and transactions using SAP, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of financial information.
5. Monitor budgets, expenses, cash flow and financial performance, highlighting any discrepancies or unusual movements.
6. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, banking regulations, internal policies and financial control procedures.
7. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, auditors and relevant departments on financial reporting, audits and accounting matters.
8. Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, strengthen internal controls and enhance operational efficiency.
9. Support financial planning, budgeting and forecasting activities as required.
10. Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of financial records for audit and compliance purposes.

Requirements

1. Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
3. Strong hands-on experience in SAP, particularly in finance and accounting modules.
4. Good knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger, account reconciliation and month-end closing processes.
5. Familiarity with accounting standards, financial controls and regulatory requirements within the banking industry.
6. Strong analytical, problem-solving and numerical skills with good attention to detail.
7. Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
8. Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
