Brief description of duties and responsibilities
Reporting:
- Review local and group reporting packages periodically.
- Lead the preparation of IFRS 17 local reporting and manage the Finance Transformation project for Singapore.
- Prepare quarterly Asset Under Management (AUM) files.
- Prepare RBC 2 Forms, liaising with appointed actuaries as needed.
- Prepare additional MAS forms such as MAS 122, MAS 114, and MAS 109.
- Perform quarterly reinsurance calculations and address any queries from reinsurers.
- Conduct additional checks on fees calculated from the policy administration system to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in the custodian closing process when required.
Process Improvement and operational risk:
- Identify and suggest areas for improvement in finance and accounting processes.
- Conduct regular assessments of financial procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Audit and Compliance:
- Respond to ad-hoc queries from auditors.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of big 4 external audit experience.
Skills:
- Strong business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively with senior-level business partners.
- Demonstrated proactive attitude and ability to collaborate across departments when needed.
