Financial Controller (SVP / Director), Private Equity & Private Credit

A leading Asia-Pacific alternative investment manager is hiring a Financial Controller in Singapore to lead how its private equity and private credit structures are set up, funded and governed. You will be the Singapore lead across both strategies, supporting structures in India, Korea, Japan, Ireland, the UK, Cayman, BVI and Hong Kong, and reporting into Hong Kong.

This is a newly created, senior role. The team wants someone dynamic who thinks beyond the template, not someone who only runs an existing process.

The role

1. Design and implement fund, sponsor, SPV and holding-company structures, and manage entities through set-up, recycling, restructuring and liquidation.
2. Design and document fund-to-SPV funding flows, and oversee share allotments, redemptions, dividends, capital repayments and liquidations.
3. Own the governance framework for SPVs and investment structures: policies, workflows, operating manuals and responsibility matrices.
4. Oversee board, shareholder and investment committee matters, particularly for PN3, 13O and 13U entities, and sign off Singapore filings for the entities.
5. Oversee corporate-secretarial work, and keep structure charts and shareholder records complete and current.
6. Act as the central point of coordination for deal teams, legal, tax, treasury, risk, compliance, finance and external advisers.

You will need

1. Around 12 years' experience in private equity or private credit, either at an investment manager or in a professional-services firm advising on private equity transactions and structures (for example transaction advisory, fund structuring or tax).
2. Hands-on experience designing and implementing cross-border fund, SPV and holding structures and their funding arrangements.
3. Familiarity with Singapore, Cayman and BVI structures and with the 13O and 13U schemes. Ireland, Australia or India is an advantage.
4. Experience running board, shareholder and investment committee processes, and managing corporate-secretarial firms, counsel and tax advisers.
5. A practical, commercial approach and strong ownership.
6. Excellent written and spoken English.
