Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)

Role Overview

The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) works directly with client stakeholders to design, build, and deploy scalable, production-grade solutions within real-world enterprise environments. This role blends software engineering, solution architecture, and client-facing consulting, with a strong emphasis on rapid prototyping, integration, and AI-enabled systems delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with client stakeholders (business and IT) to understand strategic objectives, technical requirements, and operational constraints

• Translate client needs into solution architectures, product roadmaps, and actionable delivery plans

• Design and implement end-to-end architectures for web, mobile, and cloud-native applications using APIs and microservices

• Build, customize, and deploy solutions within client environments (cloud, on-prem, or hybrid)

• Rapidly prototype and iterate in real-world environments to validate concepts and reduce delivery risk

• Apply best practices in AI-enabled product development, including prompt engineering and context engineering

• Integrate solutions with legacy enterprise systems while ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance

• Lead technical discussions, workshops, and solution design reviews with client teams

• Drive adoption through implementation support, knowledge transfer, and change enablement

• Capture client feedback and field insights to inform internal product and engineering roadmaps

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

• Strong programming experience in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Go)

• Hands-on experience with APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Experience designing and deploying distributed systems or digital product architectures

• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to operate in complex, ambiguous environments

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in client-facing roles

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in consulting, solutions engineering, or forward-deployed engineering roles

• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes

• Exposure to AI/ML systems and experience with prompt/context engineering

• Experience integrating legacy enterprise systems with modern cloud-native platforms
