Learn more about our benefits. \n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nThe Freight Analyst is a key contributor to optimizing Applied Materials\u2019 global freight network. This entry-level role focuses on modeling and visualizing freight costs, volumes, and operational impacts resulting from process or network changes (e.g., shipment consolidation, onboarding new carriers). In addition, the position may support adjacent functions such as Finished Goods Distribution and Logistics Engineering \u0026 Automation. The role requires building a deep understanding of the company\u2019s freight network, end-to-end logistics processes, and system configurations to enable data-driven decision-making and drive continuous improvement.\n\nFreight Analyst Functions:\n\n * Network Optimization: Develop and maintain models to analyze freight cost, volume, and operational impacts of network or process changes.\n\n * Process \u0026 Data Improvement: Identify process and data gaps, recommend improvements (e.g., routing guide updates), and enhance data quality (e.g., collecting new carrier data).\n\n * Advanced Analytics: Collaborate with the Freight Analytics team to improve machine learning models for freight cost estimation, volume forecasting, and data cleansing.\n\n * Reporting \u0026 Visualization: Support the development of dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights for stakeholders.\n\n * Stakeholder Communication: Partner with freight operations, finance, supply chain, and commercial teams to stay informed on upcoming rate changes, carrier updates, and supplier network adjustments.\n\n * System Implementation: Assist in implementing freight process and system enhancements.\n\n\n\n\nSuccess Factors\n\n * Ability to think systemically and understand the impact of configuration changes on key freight metrics.\n\n * Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.\n\n * Highly adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.\n\n * Proactive and self-driven, with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.\n\n\n\n\nMinimum Requirements: Education \u0026 Experience\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Industrial Engineering or Data Analytics.\n\n\n\n\nKnowledge \u0026 Skills:\n\n * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complexity.\n\n * Proficiency in data analysis tools and visualization platforms (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI/Tableau).\n\n * Proficiency in Excel, eg.
