We are currently seeking a dynamic Head of Communications to join our team and lead the Communications department. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive internal and external communication and branding strategies to enhance the Institute’s brand reputation, both internally and externally. This role is instrumental in strengthening ISCA’s brand presence, purpose, culture and values, positioning ISCA as a world-class accountancy body of trusted professionals.
This role will report to the Chief Executive Officer.
Primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Develop and execute successful internal communications, including employee and executive communication strategies and programmes that align to the business mission and goals
- Lead external communication efforts to elevate the Institute’s reputation and visibility in the industry and community
- Oversee corporate and employer branding across public-facing avenues, through working with and supporting internal stakeholders to ensure consistency and coherence across all communication channels
- Contribute to impactful public relations strategies that connect to brand and business goals and respond to current issues and trends.
- Oversee the development of brand assets, including logos, visual identity, and brand guidelines
- Craft press releases, media kits, and other external communications materials to announce company news, initiatives and achievements
- Cultivate relationships with key media contacts to secure media coverage and promote positive public relations for the Institute
- Manage media inquiries and interviews effectively
- Monitor media coverage and track industry trends to inform communication strategies and identify opportunities for proactive engagement
- Oversee the Institute’s social media and corporate website, this includes collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the website accurately reflects the Institute’s values, products/services, and corporate messaging
- Responsible for the department’s budget and management reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public relations, or related field
- At least 8 years experience in a senior communications role, with a focus on internal and external communications, branding, and media relations.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Inter-personal savvy and adept at building relationships with different stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate trends and proactively adapt communication strategies accordingly
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate team members
- Excellent time management and organisational skills; ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude
