Head of Facultative

Due to growth, they require a dynamic and experienced professional to join as the Head of Facultative Insurance, based in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership and Strategy:

-Develop and execute facultative underwriting strategies

-Lead and mentor the underwriting team, fostering continuous improvement

-Demonstrate exceptional market knowledge in broking industry trends and regulatory changes

• Underwriting and Risk Assessment:

-Ensure thorough underwriting assessments for complex risks

-Approve underwriting submissions in line with company policies

-Provide technical support and guidance as a subject matter expert

• Client and Broker Relationships:

-Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients

-Develop new business opportunities with intermediaries and clients

-Represent the company at industry events

• Operational Excellence:

-Collaborate with claims, risk engineering, and actuarial teams

-Conduct competitor analysis and benchmark underwriting practices

-Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements

-Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 10 years’ insurance industry experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
• Proven track record in facultative underwriting and risk assessment
• Significant experience working with a broking organisation
• Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
• Strategic thinker with a growth mindset and the ability to innovate and adapt
