Hedge Fund Operations Analyst (Global/Japanese Equities Buy Side)

We are a Singapore-based investment management firm specializing in Japanese equities. Our investment approach focuses on fundamental analysis, primarily targeting mid- to small-cap companies across a range of sectors.

Our operations team is integral to supporting our investment strategies by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of all post-trade and fund processes.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Operations Analyst with strong fund accounting expertise.

This role offers end-to-end exposure to hedge fund operations within a collaborative team, providing opportunities to contribute across multiple areas of the operational lifecycle.

1. Perform daily and monthly NAV calculations and validations
2. Conduct P&L reconciliations and variance analysis
3. Calculate management and performance fees, along with expense allocations
4. Support month-end and year-end closing processes

1. Monitor trade settlements and resolve any exceptions
2. Reconcile trades, positions, and cash balances with prime brokers
3. Support trade lifecycle events for Japanese equities
4. Process corporate actions and income collections
5. Manage FX hedging reconciliations and mark-to-market activities

1. Coordinate with transfer agents on subscriptions and redemptions
2. Liaise with fund administrators on reporting and capital activity
3. Prepare investor statements and capital account reconciliations
4. Support side pocket and special situations processing

1. Monitor compliance with investment guidelines and risk limits
2. Assist with regulatory filings and audit preparation
3. Review legal and operational documents (e.g., fund agreements, tax forms)
4. Support internal controls and maintain documentation

1. Work closely with prime brokers, custodians, and fund administrators
2. Partner with investment teams on operational matters
3. Coordinate with auditors and regulatory bodies as needed

1. Maintain and enhance internal tools (primarily Excel-based) for reporting and analysis
2. Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
3. Contribute to ad hoc projects and operational initiatives

1. Experience: 2–5 years in hedge fund operations, fund accounting, or buy-side operations
2. Core Skills: Strong knowledge of NAV calculations, reconciliations, and fund flows
3. Industry Exposure: Experience working with prime brokers, fund administrators, and custodians
4. Market Knowledge: Familiarity with Japanese equities is advantageous
5. Technical Skills (Preferred): Python, SQL, and/or VBA
6. Attributes: Detail-oriented, analytical, reliable, and adaptable team player
