Job Description & Requirements

Honing Machine Setter-Operator (Metalworking) with CNC programming knowledge

Responsibilities:

• Setting and Operating reconditioning machines such as Honing and Valve Grinding and Seat Grindings.
• Able to read and understand the engine manual and requirements.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and measuring instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
• Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
• Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
• Must have have good Program and operating knowledge on Threading.
• Turning Created details set up sheet, Tool lists and operated Honing and CNC Machines.
• To implement latest Cutting tools parameters in previous proven job time study for cycle time improvement, and process improvement.
• Co-ordination with RFQ Machine cost estimated and machining process selection.
• Selecting work tools based on planning requirement. Select the Tool, cutting speed &feed as per work piece materials.
• Programming, Setting, Operating the Honing,CNC Turning,Conventional Machines like lathe, milling,. Working knowledge on Surface grinding, Internal grinding machine, External grinding machine.
• To implement latest Cutting tools parameters in previous proven job time study for cycle time improvement, and process improvement.
• Co-ordination with RFQ Machine cost estimated and machining process selection.
• Select work tools based on planning requirement. Select the Tool, cutting speed& feed as perwork piece materials.
•  Geometrical tolerance identification to verify the tolerance of the part on Manualprogramming.
• Sharing the Innovation for Cost Deduction for the machine running time.

- Working in workshop and Anchorage vessels.

- Good time Management and work Independently.

- Good communication skills with Ship Owners and Superindents.

- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.

- Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.

- To perform any other duties & Responsibilities assigned by superiors from time to time.

Requirements:

- Knowledge of MS office.

- Able to work OT.

- Excellent coordination skills.

- Able to work in Night shifts.

- Able to working at Height.

•  Ability to training fresher’s & operators in work area.
•  Select the Tool, cutting speed & feed as per work piece materials.
•  Ability of control manpower through allocating of work in a shift.
•  Knowledge of Quality & Environment management systems applicable.
•  Ability to prepare departmental reports production & rejection.
•  All kind of threading and thread repair works .
