Job Description - HR Specialist, Compensation and Benefits - Urgent Role

JOB SUMMARY

The HR Specialist is responsible for delivering policies, procedures and programs in compensation, benefits, HRIS and employee engagement for associates in Singapore, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok Customer Engagement Centres, Marriott International.

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Process monthly payroll, statutory contributions and tax clearance as per local statutory guidelines
  • Collaborate with payroll vendor/local HR team to ensure timely and accurate processing of data
  • Maintain data accuracies and alignment between HRIS and Payroll Software
  • Liaise with internal & external auditors/government agencies on headcount and payroll matters
  • Gather, interpret and analyze market data related to compensation and benefits
  • Prepare remuneration packages for new hires/promotes/transfers
  • Conduct company orientation for new hires on compensation and benefits polices/programs
  • Handle insurance plans and business travel insurance plans by collaborating with external vendors
  • Ensure effective preparation, retention and retrieval of personnel files
  • Conduct/maintain effective communication channels to keep associates informed of compensation and benefits policies/procedures/programs 
  • Develop action plans related to compensation and benefits policies/program aim at improving satisfaction index 
  • Plan and execute year-round wellness/volunteerism events to prioritize physical, mental and financial wellness of the associates
  • Champion positive work environment by promoting a culture of respect, inclusion, diversity and encourage volunteerism and caring for the communities

 

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

  • Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management 
  • Incumbent must have at least 2 years in a similar capacity 
  • Good understanding of employment legislation in Singapore including Employment of Foreign Manpower Act
  • Knowledge in compensation and benefits legislation in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand is an added advantage
  • High attention to details
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills
  • Experienced in conducting policies/procedures briefings and events management
