Insurance & Claims Executive

Faststream Recruitment has partnered with a global freight-forwarding company who is looking to expand their team. 

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full lifecycle of cargo claims, including loss, damage, shortage, and delay investigations and resolutions.
• Assess liability based on Bills of Lading, NVOCC obligations, and international maritime conventions.
• Negotiate settlements with shippers, consignees, insurers, and other stakeholders.
• Pursue subrogation and recoveries from carriers, truckers, warehouses, and their insurers.
• Administer corporate insurance programs, including Marine Cargo, Freight Forwarders Liability, Errors & Omissions, and Warehouse Legal Liability.
• Prepare claims statistics, loss reports, and renewal documentation to support insurance negotiations.
• Analyze claims trends and implement risk mitigation measures and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate with legal counsel, surveyors, and underwriters on complex or litigated claims.
• Ensure compliance with applicable trade laws, maritime regulations, and customs requirements.
• Maintain claims databases and provide management with reports on claims performance, financial impact, and risk exposure.

Key Requirements: 

• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in marine insurance claims
• Prior experience in a freight-forwarding environment is a plus
• Understanding of standard shipping documentation and international liability regimes
