Job Description - Investment Analyst Fund of Funds

You will play a pivotal part in supporting Portfolio Managers with fund research, manager due diligence, and portfolio support, while also engaging directly with clients and distribution partners. The organisation offers a supportive culture that values intellectual curiosity, teamwork, and professional growth. With access to ongoing training opportunities and exposure to a wide range of investment strategies, you will be empowered to develop your expertise and make meaningful contributions to the firm's investment process.

  • Work closely with experienced Portfolio Managers on fund selection, asset allocation, and ongoing due diligence, gaining hands-on experience across multiple asset classes and investment strategies.
  • Engage directly with clients and distribution partners by preparing insightful investment updates, pitch books, factsheets, and portfolio materials that support both sales efforts and client servicing.
  • Benefit from a collaborative team environment that encourages knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and professional development within the fast-evolving world of fund-of-funds investing.

What you'll do:

As an Investment Analyst Fund of Funds based in Singapore, you will immerse yourself in all aspects of fund research and portfolio support. Your day-to-day activities will involve conducting thorough due diligence on a diverse range of funds, analysing performance data, and collaborating closely with Portfolio Managers to identify opportunities for asset allocation adjustments. You will be responsible for preparing compelling client communications-including regular updates, pitch books, factsheets, and detailed reports-that help drive informed decision-making for both internal teams and external partners. By building strong relationships with fund managers and staying attuned to market developments, you will play a crucial role in shaping the firm's investment approach. Success in this position requires not only technical proficiency but also excellent interpersonal skills; your ability to communicate complex concepts clearly will set you apart as a trusted resource within the team.

  • Conduct comprehensive manager research by evaluating existing and prospective funds through rigorous qualitative and quantitative analysis, ensuring recommendations are well-supported by data-driven insights.
  • Perform ongoing due diligence on selected funds, monitoring performance metrics, risk factors, and operational developments to ensure continued suitability within client portfolios.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to recommend changes in asset allocation or fund switches based on evolving market conditions and research findings.
  • Support the development of actionable investment ideas by synthesising complex data into clear insights that inform portfolio construction decisions.
  • Prepare regular investment updates for clients and distribution partners, ensuring communications are timely, accurate, and tailored to audience needs.
  • Create and maintain high-quality marketing materials such as pitch books, factsheets, and portfolio updates that effectively communicate the firm's value proposition.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed research reports that articulate key findings and recommendations for internal stakeholders as well as external clients.
  • Liaise with fund managers to gather information, clarify queries, and build strong working relationships that enhance the firm's research capabilities.
  • Contribute to the broader investment team's efforts by sharing knowledge, participating in team discussions, and supporting ad hoc projects as required.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Investment Analyst Fund of Funds role brings proven experience from previous positions involving fund research or portfolio analysis within reputable financial institutions. Your academic background demonstrates a solid foundation in finance or economics-ideally complemented by progress toward professional qualifications such as the CFA. You possess advanced technical skills in Excel (and potentially VBA), which enable you to manage large datasets efficiently while extracting meaningful insights.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or a related field is preferable; progress towards or completion of CFA designation is highly regarded for this position.
  • A minimum of three years' relevant experience in investment analysis, portfolio or fund research or a similar role within the financial services industry is essential.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required for data analysis; familiarity with VBA or equivalent programming languages would be advantageous for automating processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesise large volumes of complex data into actionable insights that inform investment decisions is critical for success.
  • Exceptional writing skills are needed to produce clear and persuasive research reports as well as effective client communications.
  • Outstanding verbal communication abilities enable you to present findings confidently to both internal stakeholders and external clients or partners.
  • A detail-oriented mindset ensures accuracy when handling sensitive financial information or preparing materials for client review.
  • Intellectual curiosity drives your commitment to staying informed about market trends and best practices within fund-of-funds investing.
  • A collaborative approach allows you to work effectively within a team environment while contributing positively to group discussions and shared objectives.
