Junior Bitumen Trader

Key Responsibilities

1. Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze global bitumen/asphalt market trends, supply-demand fundamentals, and macro-economic factors to support trading decisions.
2. Trade Execution: Assist in the execution of physical purchase and sale contracts, ensuring alignment with company risk management policies.
3. Portfolio Support: Help manage the trading book by tracking positions, exposure, and Profit & Loss (P&L) reports.
4. Counterparty Management: Build and maintain relationships with international buyers, suppliers, and shippers.
5. Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with the Logistics and Finance teams to ensure smooth trade settlements and timely delivery of products from our refineries.

Requirements

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, International Trade, or a related Engineering field.
2. Experience: 1–3 years of experience in commodity trading, logistics, or operations (experience in oil & gas or bitumen is a significant advantage).
3. Skills: Strong numerical and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and data analysis.
4. Communication: Excellent negotiation skills and fluency in English ; proficiency in Mandarin is required to coordinate with our China-based refinery teams.
5. Attributes: A high degree of integrity, ability to work under pressure, and a proactive "can-do" attitude.
