Our client is a global MNC providing a range of engineering, construction and maintenance services.Due to their business growth in APAC, we are partnering with them to look for a Financial Controller APAC based in Singapore regional office.
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the integrity of financial processes. This role plays a critical part in supporting strategic decision-making by providing timely and accurate financial insights to senior management.
Main Accountabilities
Assisting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and Group reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Ensuring financial follow-up with Business Units and management of the Division
Compiling and analysing financial information for internal purpose
Establishing, maintaining, and coordinating accounting records and accounting control procedures
Analysing and reviewing expenditures against budgets
Monitoring and reviewing accounting reports for accuracy and completeness.
Supporting Project and Business Unit Managers in preparing projects and business unit forecasts/budgets.
Training staff in accounting policies and procedures and assisting with accounting issues.
Analysing financial data to assist business units with interpretation of financial data.
Maintaining financial systems and procedures to ensure adherence to the group/company guidelines.
Carrying out other ad hoc financial reporting and analytical work.
Providing guidance to the project and administration team, allowing for flexibility, evolution of process and focusing on the analytics and comprehension of the financial statements.
Interacting with external auditors.
Carrying out internal audits as and when required.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial alignment with business objectives.
Understanding and implementing the company health and safety policy and taking reasonable care of own health and safety and the health and safety of others.
The responsibilities and tasks of the position are not limited to the above mentioned and change might occur in concert with the direct Manager.
Job Complexity
Knowledge and experience:
A degree in commerce with accounting is preferred
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports and forecasts.
High proficiency in financial systems (e.g., ERP, Excel, BI tools).
Work requires adhering to both flexible schedules, particularly with respect to month end accounts and fixed schedules, as determined by the parent company.
Dealing with unforeseen job management and accounting software problems that impact on the business.
