KYC/Compliance Officer, Private Banking (6mth Contract)

We are partnered with a prestigious financial institution in search for a Compliance Specialist to join the team on a 6-month contract. This role is essential for ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and managing high-risk client profiles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed due diligence reviews on Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and other high-risk clients, focusing on periodic assessments.
• Advise business units on compliance and regulatory matters related to Know Your Customer (KYC) processes.
• Address inquiries from internal teams and auditors regarding KYC issues.
• Coordinate with IT on system improvements and resolve technical issues.
• Manage ad-hoc projects and prepare reports for management.
• Ensure prompt resolution of blocked transactions.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in business, accounting, law, or a related field, with relevant professional qualifications.
• At least 5 years of experience in KYC within a financial institution, with knowledge of Singapore’s regulatory framework (Banking Act, SFA, FAA).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
• High level of analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage client onboarding processes effectively, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timely follow-up on pending documentation.
