Laboratory Supervisor

Job Description

·      Supervise the laboratory operation fortesting of marine fuels and lubricating oils in accordance with the ISO, ASTMand other equivalent international standard test methods.

·      To maintain the quality assuranceactivities ensuring a high level of conformancewith ISO 17025 from SAC Singlas. Prepare and maintain documentation fortechnical audits in accordance with ISO requirements and to ensure compliance.

·      Prepare daily test reports, and liaisewith customer on final reporting matters.

·      Maintain good housekeeping of chemicals,laboratory equipment, general test equipments and glassware. 

·      Coordinate with local authorities such asSCDF, NEA and chemical safety related issues.

·      Ensure safety equipment and procedures aremaintained and comply with the required standards.

·      Development of in-house testing proceduresutilizing FTIR techniques, additional testing/working procedures in thelaboratory and on LIMS system.

JobRequirements

• Minimum Degree in Chemistry, Chemical engineering or its equivalent 
• At least 5 years of service experience in supervisory or management roles in petroleum products or bunker fuel testing is required
• Able to work independently 
• Able to work with tight deadlines 
• Analytical and research oriented with good communication skills, should the need arise, be willing to attend the laboratory after office hours occasionally 
• Team player with good interpersonal skills
