You will provide overall legal advice to SFA on all aspects of the performance of its statutory functions and duties.
[What you will be working on]
Provide broad based in-house legal advice on various aspects of SFA’s business, including legislative interpretation, assessing the legal implications and consequences of proposed revisions to the Acts and Regulations under the purview of SFA.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and SFA policies, and that legal risks and liabilities are adequately managed and/or mitigated.
Work with SFA’s various divisions in law reform by drafting or reviewing regulatory instruments, such as proposed amendments to the Acts and Regulations under the purview of SFA, approvals, notices, directions and licences.
Draft and/or vet various types of contractual documents such as research collaboration agreements, IT contracts, education-related contracts, tender contracts for the procurement or provision of goods and services, lease agreements, MOUs with local or international partners, and letters of offer that SFA issues to external parties.
Advise on all Intellectual Property (“IP”) matters in R&D collaborations, including contributing to the drafting of IP-related clauses; identifying, protecting SFA IP and intangible assets, or mitigating risks associated with third party IP.
Review and assist in making recommendations on International Conventions and Treaties involving SFA.
Advise on proposed enforcement actions and intended prosecution on regulatory matters.
Conduct prosecutions in court trial cases in the State Courts, if required.
[What we are looking for]
Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree. Admission to the Singapore Bar will be an advantage. Preferably 3-5 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
Excellent writing, presentation and organizational skills.
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, able to consider issues in a holistic manner.
Resourceful and able to work independently effectively or as part of a team.
Self-motivated and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to engage and interact with people at all levels and provide them with legally sound and practical solutions.
Able to deliver results under pressure, with a passion to serve and make a difference to society.
Intellectual Property and commercial law experience will be an advantage but not a requirement.
